Goals: Jon of Buy Renewed approached us over a year ago with an idea. Having spent most of his career representing home entertainment products for business and consumers, he realized there was a niche in the market that wasn’t being represented well… refurbished electronics. Jon wanted to create a brand, with an e-commerce store, to try to increase knowledge and credibility for these products. At our first meeting, we discussed his goals (both short and long term) and went through the forseeable challenges. Then, we started working.
We created the brand from scratch. We put together a logo for the new name that branched off the idea seal of approval. We wanted to make sure it could be used for a variety of different purposes (web site, letterhead, packaging, etc) so we encased it into an oval shape. We used Magento as our e-commerce solution due to its robust functionality and ease of use. We then took the brand to the social media outlets. Starting with Twitter, we were able to capture an active audience for the web site’s launch. We’ve since added Facebook and have plans for YouTube. Focusing on clean design and ease of usability, BuyRenewed now has a brand that can be utilized in a variety of different mediums to reach their target audience.
Although the process is still in the works, Jon has started to successfully educate the public about renewed products. The end goal is that they will no longer looked at as being simply used, but will be looked at as a viable opportunity to own current, quality electronics for a discounted price.
